Firefox and spellcheck/contractions

I have firefox and for some reason the automatic spellcheck, where the work is underlined in red, is underlining almost all my contractions. Can this be changed?
didn't, isn't aren't shouldn't couldn't wouldn't, doesn't, hadn't

don't, won't,haven't,can't are OK.

This is an OT question, but I know it will get more attention over here. So I'll post it here first and then move it.
I haven't been able to find my dogs arthritis meds , Deramaxx that I put in those little daily pill reminder containers. I found it behind the chair today, empty. I had filled it up because we are going on vacation next week and I wanted to know how many more I needed to get. She must have got it off the counter. She is suppose to have 1/2 pill every day and...

Bat house ??'s

Does anyone know about bat houses? I have a new out-building and would love to install a bat house on it. I've heard to only put them facing south but the south side is the eave side and is only 7' high. The gable sides are 12' high but face east or west. Would no bat come if it's on the east or west side? Just wondering, thank you. Sue

One of my favorite things about birding is seeing an unfamiliar bird and trying to identify it. This little guy has been hanging around my back yard for the last couple of days and I finally got a decent pic of him. He seems to be traveling alone. He's definitely not the skittish type b/c he lets me get almost right up to him. Thought he was really cool looking and if he is helping decrease the fly population around here, the dogs and I are happy for him to stay as long as he likes....

Roar of the Tornado

Funny, never had the experience until now and just want to tell someone but just don't know how to describe it. We had a tornado hit our area and we were lucky and had no damage (although 2 houses were demolished 1/2 block away). People say it sounds like the roar of a train and it truly is the closest thing to describe the sound you hear, but there is nothing like it--it is mezmerizing, at least for me. I just wanted to stand there and listen to it and see what was making that sound....

.....the little icon thing by our names that tells us whether or not we are online! It's not like the name on the bottom that tells who's been on in the last 15 minutes, right. It tells us who is actually on. And it must tell who is on this forum, and if we switch to another forum our little icon won't be lit up?

We found these icky-looking worms on the evergreen bush in the bird-feeding area. They're really creepy because they all move in unison, when the branch is touched, or even if something moved toward the branch. They also appear to be killing the bush. What are they, and does anyone know how I can get rid of them without harming the birds?

Blackberries

Does anyone know anything about planting blackberries. I bought a thornless variety and I'm not sure where to plant it or how it will come up in the future. How much does it spread etc. Raspberries spread all over the place. What about blackberries?

Happened to notice that before signing in this am that I was getting zillions of ads on the Bluebird Nut Cafe -- is Yuku messed up or has something happened with the Gold Subscription. I remember reading a post a while ago and based on that decided to do the individual supporter so it wouldn't count against the hits. Has anything changed?

I don't know how people can navigate with all that garbage!

For instance if I take a cowbird egg photo from Sialis and put it into a post is that going against computer etiquette?
