This is my favorite time of year with the Bluebirds. All the babies are big and strong and staying close by waiting on their daily ration of "the mix". This is my first year to have Starlings and I have to say I hate them worse than the Mockers. I haven't posted in SOOO long but wanted to share with you some good news. After a disappointing spring and summer, with my blues being run out of the nest by a wren, finding a dead blue in my yard about a month ago... They drove all the offspring away in Spring and had 3 more batches. Now the same thing is happening -- they and all the siblings (12 birds in total) seem to be settling in for the winter.
