			<description><![CDATA[ Hello, I am one of the fortunate ones in that I have a small farm loaded with bluebirds.  My mom and pop fledged 3 batches this year, and I think they are all still here!  I decided to start feeding mealies this year to help them thru the winter, and a mockingbird has taken over.   I was using a flat feeder, and he'd hog all the mealies and wouldnt let any blues near.  Then I got a mockingbird-proof feeder, and even tho he cant get in, he still protects it like its his own, and wont let... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Staying for the winter... again.... ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have had a pair of bluebirds nest in the yard for 2 seasons now.  Last year they and all of their offspring stayed the winter.  There was no way they could survive as there are not enough berry plants here, so I put out mealworms for them every morning until Spring.<br>

They drove all the offspring away in Spring and had 3 more batches.  Now the same thing is happening -- they and all the siblings (12 birds in total) seem to be settling in for the winter.<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi all we are new homeowners in a rural area.  My wife's father has been feeding and nesting bluebirds for years.  <br>
We would like some at our home.  We have 80 acres of crop land with a creek running through it, a nice treeline, the house sits just off of it about 40 feet.  <br>
My question is where is a good location for a bird feeder?  I would like to watch them feed.  While we are at it where can I sit some nesting boxes?<br>

			<title><![CDATA[ Blues and soccer fields ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Yesterday afternoon/evening I was at my girls soccer game in Grand Blanc MI, and the soccer field there is loaded with blue birds. They perch on the goal posts and hunt.  By my estimate I must have saw 30 of them! I also saw no housesparrows at all! It was a nice sight to behold. 			<description><![CDATA[ So I am sat on my back step, surveying the moderate destruction of my favourite tree after Hurricane Florence blew through here, and feeling a bit down at all the branches and debris everywhere.  When I spot a blue flash and then another, and I realise that I have a delightful family of 5 blues picking over the fallen branches looking for grubs, they were joined by a pair of black and white warblers and an American redstart, so they all cheered me up and made me marvel again at how resilient... ]]></description>
