Well, I finally ran out of meal worms and made a batch of peanut butter suet last night and put some out this morning. Well, all 5 blues came to eat - they looked at the bowl, ate a few pieces of suet, then went up to the tree, and then came back down a time or two to "nibble". But you could tell then were saying "Where's the worms?" Well, I've got news for them, no more worms this year and they will eventually LOVE that extra treat, when it gets colder especially. But they did eat some, which is encouraging. I've already spotted a few juncos and white-crowned sparrows but have not put out the seed feeder yet for them. I also have seen lots of HOSP lately, which I've not seen for quite a while. They like the suet also, so I will probably put out my ground trap later & bait it with that for the HOSP. Trouble is, I always catch everything EXCEPT HOSP.
