A different kind of picture.... |

....just attempting to learn PhotoShop Elements after having it three years - I was TOLD that PS Elements is a lot easier than the regular PhotoShop - HA! Or maybe I'm just stupid, but it's been really frustrating! I should take a class - in my SPARE time - double HA!
Anyway, last year's picture with a paint effect....

Very pretty, Leah. Is that watercolor, or one of the other paint effects?
PS Elements came with my new computer - I use both that and Photoshop 5.5. Each do some things the others do not. I do love the paint effects, especially if I'm working with a picture that is not quite a perfect photograph, I can make it into something useable with the artistic tools! ![]() |

This one is "dry brush" and this picture definitely falls within the not-perfect-category. I took this picture with a 2.3 megapixel camera with the lens held smack up against one eyepiece of a pair of binoculars! I misunderstood someone's technique from another forum and was just trying it out - needless to say, that's NOT what he meant when he was explaining his technique!
With the painted effect, it's a pretty nice image - mostly because of the elm leaves, I think. |

Leah, I NEVER understood Riley's method with the binoculars! The way you did it was the way I thought it was supposed to be done and I couldn't figure out how the heck you could hold the camera AND the binoculars at the same time (and keep the camera from moving!). Did you use a tripod when you took this one? I thought you were doing this with PhotoShop instead of Elements. Glad to know it's elements so YOU can tell ME how to use it when you've figured it all out! You know I've had Elements for over six months and haven't bothered to install it yet because I'm sure the whole thing will make me NUTS. Imagain the problems I'll have if you find it difficult!!!
Anyhoo.....I LOVE this photo! Janie....Mom to Oliver & Chelsea!
